Raindrops on Roses and Whiskers on Kittens

So, this post is like a combination of all my favorite things. This is my favorite dress. The dress that my friends refer to as "The Anna Lee Dress." And I took these pictures at my job--one of my favorite places. I work at a museum and this is the outside of the log cabin that I get to work in when we have field trips. I adore my job and I adore this dress. Thus, my favorite things post!!!!
Outfit Details:
Dress- Vintage
Tights- JcPenny
Shoes- Clarks
Sweater (shown later)- Target

Clark's are genuinely the most comfortable shoes in the world! I think I'll wear mine until the day I die.

The weather was absolutely splendid today! I did throw on my adorable sweater with the elbow patches. I feel like and english professor when I wear it. I know, I'm weird.

I'm Still Here

So, things have been a bit busy here in my corner of the world. I've spent the past week running around trying to get everything done that I need to for the end of the semester. But there will still be outfit photos!

 Outfit Details:
Coat- Anthropologie
Skirt- JcPenny
Tights- JcPenny
Shoes- Old Navy

I got this coat on sale at Anthro this fall and I'm completely head over heels in love with it. I get some strange looks from people on campus, but I also get some smiles too. I think of it like a modern day little red ridding hood. Although when I bought it, all I could think about was Suzy's coat in Moonrise Kingdom.
Similar right?!

Still Sickie

A Hipster Superhero

I've been feeling under the weather these days. Yesterday I started running a bit of a fever, but I'm hoping sickness will not prevail over me having a good Thanksgiving break. I don't know if I ever wrote about this on the blog, but back in September/October I got pneumonia and was basically very sick for about a month's time. I'm a little sick of being sick, if you know what I mean.
But I digress, here's a little picture from a sickie photo shoot yesterday. My friend, Keifer, said that I looked like a hipster superhero in this picture. I'm not really sure about that, but the title is sort of amusing.

Sweet Dispostion

Fall is still here!!! We went down to the square in town and found the prettiest patch of bright yellow leaves. Aren't they gorgeous? Also the weather was so nice today, I didn't even need a jacket.
 Outfit Details:
Dress- Dainty June via Emerging Thoughts
Shirt- Forever 21
Scarf- Made by me
Tights- Forever 21
Flats- Old Navy

Red tights are my favorite. Everyone looks at you like you are crazy for wearing red tights but that's the fun of it. I especially like wearing them in the fall.

I tried to make leaf angels. It was a fail.

I also included this outtake that was taken outside of my house. I just liked it too much not to share. Happy late fall everyone!

Climbing Trees and Fall Leaves

Today Fiona and I found the greatest climbing tree on campus! I couldn't climb it very well because I was in a skirt, but I know I will be revisiting it soon.
 Outfit Details:
Sweater- Hand-me Down from my Aunt Joni
Skirt- Anthropologie
Belt- Forever 21
Tights- Black
Shoes- Anthropologie
Glasses- Ray Ban
Coat (pictured later)- Paul Frank

The weather has been PERFECT here these days. I'm so glad we've been able to enjoy the last few days of fall before it gets cold. I was glad I was able to wear this skirt while it is still fall because it reminds me of fall leaves.
We also had to take a few snap shots by this gorgeous red tree on campus!
Do you ever feel like you have a story about every piece of clothing you own? I do. Most of the stories are just stories about how I got them or how long I've had them. This jacket is one of those stories. I got this gorgeous tweed jacket for Christmas of my Freshman year of high school and its made it through the years getting better as I age.
Every where I go, without fail, people ask or comment on my owl pin. My mom and I wear matching owl pins on our coats and they are our most talked about accessories. My mom got them at the farmer's market from a woman who made lots of felt pins. I think I could easily make them myself. Maybe that's a project for another day.
Also, these are my $25 Anthropologie shoes that I adore. I got them last winter in the Anthro accessory store we have in our mall. They were $50 on sale and they had a deal that was 50% off all sale items. With only size 6 shoes left, I knew I couldn't walk away without these gorgeous oxfords.

Well, that's it folks! Happy weekend!

Pinterest Lovies

Here's my weekly round-up of a few of my favorite things via Pinterest.
This baby blanket pattern is AWESOME! I want to make a giant one for myself.
I will forever and always have a crush on red tights.
This winter, I want to buy a cheap wreath and make pompoms for it like this one! Adorable.
Crochet collars...I think I want to make a million of these!
This bag is sooooo pretty!
I love this Moonrise Kingdom print! It really captures the film in a unique and interesting way.
I completely adore these new covers of classic books from Anthro. I'm dying for this one since Little Women is in my top ten favorite books!
